This blog is a place to express my interests. I will write about and display visual media about some of the interesting aspects of humanity that are just under our collective noses, especially here in Los Angeles where there is such a diverse number of people, but also during my travels. On average, people want to stay with the familiar and safe even though there is such an interesting world around them, sometimes next door. I have had a passion for natural history and science, anthropology (all four subfields), interesting culinary traditions and the insight it can give into a culture, and many other diverse interests that are the driving force in my life. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for most of my life, and the diversity we have here has informed me and imprinted upon me. My education and training is as an archaeological anthropologist: B.A., California State University Dominguez Hills; M.A., California State University Northridge.
